Syphon's Dragon Knight Thesis
A comprehensive guide to mastering the Dragon Knight class in GemstoneRO. From beginner gear to endgame setups.
Dragonic Breath Guide
Introduction
Dragon Knight is the class I started with, I have a lot of fun memories using this class, and I’d love for you to enjoy the experience of using the Dragon Knight.
Thanks to:
- Drakkon — Original owner of the build I will be describing.
- R4VV — The player that introduced me to the class when I started months ago.
Now let’s get into business.
Dragon Knight’s Pros and Cons
| Pros | Cons |
|---|---|
| Easy to gear for high level maps | Sustainability depends on consumables (though adjustments can help) |
| Less dependent on VCT/FCT compared to other jobs | Very little flee, you’ll take a lot of damage |
| Versatile: can be run Ranged or Crit | Runs 2H weapons in all builds → requires 3 GTB cards for enchant |
| Above average tankiness | One Handed weapon alternatives tend to be weaker in damage |
| Higher base movement speed & weight capacity (mount) | - |
| Simple gameplay | - |
Stats and Traits
Dragonic Breath Build:
- Focus on VIT and INT (damage scales with Max HP and Max SP).
- Stack ATK, P.ATK, and Ranged Attack where possible.
Skills
Your main damage comes from Dragonic Breath enhanced by Dragonic Aura.

With this setup you have reached the late-game build for Dragon Knight. The next stage is the true endgame, which will require farming a lot of Zeny and materials — but with your current build, that should now be manageable.
True-Endgame Stuff
All of the previously mentioned gear can be easily obtained via your own farming, however, there are other gears that you can use to improve your build, let’s go over a few of them:
CoL Summer Cape and Accessory This makes a great combo with Nebula armor, it is a bit hard to enchant, but it has great performance, only beaten by Royal Nightwatch Cape, however, Overdrive Rampage beats the CoL accessory in most scenarios.
Royal Nightwatch Cape If you manage to get this one replace one of your weapon cards to Turtle General Card.
Astrologer Boots You want to get them with POW enchants, it comboes well with Nebula Armor.
Engraved Ice Storm Rune Suit This is better can be as strong as Nebula if you are using it along with the Chapter 1 boots and accessory.
Dimensions Boots and Accesory Gear from Chapter 1, this is hard to get, a lot of grinding, if you get 3 Padu Pass for a good price, consider getting these two, they perform amazingly with the Engraved Ice Storm Rune Suit.
Venom Enchanted Chimera or Glutton Card Best cards for HP on boots, if you can manage to get this card your damage will go up to the roof, as they provide incredible amounts of HP.
Snowstorm Angel Card Best in slot card for garment, the sheer amount of ranged damage it provides is hard to refuse, the only downside is it's price on the market.
Final Notes
Although the Dragon Breath build is done, I still need to figure out the progression for Crit DK, once I have been able to get that done, I will add the information to the guide, if you have information you would like to add or any questions you may have, don't hesitate to reach me out on discord, I'd love to read your feedback.
