Safe to Refine Certificate (Ticket) allows the player to instantly refine non-Lv2 Armor / Lv5 Weapon to the refine level stated on the ticket. (For example: Safe to +10 Armor Certificate (6994) will refine any Lv1 Armor from any refine level straight to +10). The NPC “Refine Master” (prontera 189, 175) will take this ticket and allows you to refine one of your currently equipped gears.

The core design of Safe to Refine Certificates (Tickets) in GemstoneRO is meant to smoothen out the early game progression. Most End Game gears are normally Lv2 Armor and Lv5 Weapons. So these tickets do NOT work with them.

You need to convert upgraded weapons/armors to get the refine tickets. By having a specific weapon/armor upgraded high enough and buying an Exchange Hammer from NPC Red Hugo, you can DESTROY the weapon / armor and get an upgrade certificate. Make sure to only convert items that you not using. You can also exchange several certificates for a higher one.

Not every single gear is allowed to be converted into refine tickets. Down below is the list of gears that can be converted into refine tickets.

Only upgraded Level 3 Crimson Weapons, Level 4 Thanatos, Illusion Lvl 4 and Level 4 Vicious Mind Weapons can be used for Weapon Refine Exchange Hammer.

The easiest and quickest way to get refined armour/weapons to use the refine hammer for is to farm illusion dungeons and get Illusion Refinement Boxes. You can refer to The Road to a Billion Zeny - Newbie Leveling/Farming Guide guide for the drop rate.

Note that you also need to loot the illusion equipment boxes. e.g: Illusion Moonlight Box (41081) since you can only use the illusion refinement boxes on its specific illusion equipment box. The twins refinement box can only be used for the twins equipment box, etc.

I suggest getting at least 15 illusion refinement boxes to give you a better chance of getting the refine level you want.

Once you're done farming, it's time to start the refinement process.

You should decide what refine ticket you want, if it's armour or weapon. Once you've decided, start by opening the illusion equipment box and moving the items you don't need (if you want to get armour, then move all weapons/accessories) to storage to keep your inventory tidy. I suggest an equal number of items to the number of illusion refinement boxes you have.

The illusion refinement box can only be used on equipment that is already at +4, so go to our friendly refinement NPC Lady Leona, at @go 50 and start refining all those items to +4. When you're done refining all of them to +4, start using your illusion refinement boxes. Just double-click it and select the item you want to use it for.

Remember to use it for each item you have, but you can also re-roll the refine level by selecting that item again.

After you use all your refinement boxes, you will now have equipment with a refine level of anywhere between +7 and +10. Since the refinement boxes will give a random refine level of +7 to +10.

You can now go back to Hugo here and use the hammers to convert those equipments to tickets.

NOTE: Make sure to use the correct hammer level for your equipment item level.
