**Note: This guide was last updated before the Chapter 1 update and may have some out of date information as a result, particularly for the footgear, weapon and headgear slots.**

Hi, I'm Conga Lyne, a performer main, hopefully this guide will help you along your journey playing the performer classes! \\ 
Take note, the main appeal to performer is the large utility and party potential it provides while still remaining independent, this is a class played out of love. \\ 
You won't have the same DPS as meta classes like Ranger and Arch Mage, but still have more than enough damage (3b+ dps) to tackle all content with the right gear.

This guide will also focus on magical dps Performer, specifically the skill Metallic Fury, I will be focusing on the skill as it is spammable, has a large AoE, can be any element and has low entry requirements. \\ 
If you need any direct help, you can most likely find me in the #archer channel on discord or as "Cute Boy Conga" ingame, I might take a while to respond so sending an RODex may be more convenient for both of us.

With all that said, let's get into it.


===== Leveling =====

Going from level 0 to 200 is your first major goal, silver arrows will be the most useful throughout most areas of play.

Something that will help you significantly early on is eden group gear, you can attain eden group equipment by first joining the eden group after talking to Secretary Lime Evenor (moc_para01 27, 35), and then talking to the various equipment masters at (moc_para01 107, 79). \\ 
Start from the bottom and work your way towards the top, I recommend gathering the items for Louis's free advanced items, but find it easier to spend 10 eden group coins on Labraham's advanced weapon. \\ 
You can use the @wd <item name>, and @wi <monster name> commands to find where to locate the required materials.

You can get normal eden group equipment at any level and advanced eden group equipment at level 100.

(ein_dun02 25, 250) Also at level 180, you can turn in Thanatos fragments for exp at the main office quest board, you won't be able to farm these items yourself but can usually purchase them from other players at a cheap price. |

After you have a reliable zeny income, you can make a +10 {{:wiki:1702.webp}} Bow [4] ([[https://ratemyragnarok.com/database/items/1702|1702]])  and fill it with {{:wiki:4428.webp}} Bow Guardian Card ([[https://ratemyragnarok.com/database/items/4428|4428]])  to make leveling up future Performers a lot faster.


===== Gameplay & Skills =====

For stats, you want to max int, vit, spl and con) \\ 
You should get a healthy amount of str & agi for carry weight and fast animation speeds, and dumb left over points into luk and wis for status resistance & additional durability. \\ 
If you are still leveling your character you will likely prefer having high dex instead of str for faster cast time. \\ 
There aren't any specific tricks to pay attention to when playing Troubadour or Trouvere, just remember to keep your buffs up. \\ 
The songs you choose however, do matter. \\

Starting on 1st job and working our way to 4th, we'll max out our passive skills and attention concentrate for as many stat buffs as possible from the archer job, leftover job points can be dumped into the 1st job damage skills. \\

For Male performers, you should get Poem of Bragi and your favourite song of choice (I recommend Assassin Cross of Sunset for GM events) \\ 
For Female performers, you should get Fortune's Kiss and Service For You, you won't use Fortune's Kiss outside of party play, but Service For You will be very useful for SP conservation while farming. \\ 
Skillful Professional Musician is also a critical skill to get for both classes, as well as maxing out with Dance Lessons for more passive stat bonuses. \\

For 3rd job, you should get Metallic Sound to level 5 as we'll need it for later, additionally, reach max level with Voice Lessons. \\ 
Depending on your gender, you'll either be getting Swing Dance or Echo Song. \\ 
Make sure to also grab Frigg's Song, Song of Mana and Unlimited Humming Voice. \\

Song of mana will be very useful for farming dungeons as it can single handedly supply your mana if continuously recast when off cooldown. \\ 
Unlimited humming voice will be useful for when we need a large amount of damage, such as when fighting an MVP or powerful group of mobs. \\ 
Frigg's Song will likely only be used when fighting enemies who deal a large amount of damage such as Depths mobs and is useful for those circumstances. \\ 
Reverberation is also a useful skill to have for GM events. \\

Finally for 4th job, we mainly care about maxing Metallic Fury, Sound Blend and Stage Manners. \\ 
Sound Blend will be critical for killing bosses and strong enemies as it puts a debuff on it's victims which causes them to take increased damage from Metallic Fury. \\ 
Also be sure to grab Mystic Symphony and Sonata of Kvasir, afterwards you can grab as many songs as you like. \\ 
I recommend assigning Serenade of Jawaii and March of Prontera to max level as well, as they will be your main 4th job buff skills for yourself and your party. \\ 
They won't be as significant as most 2nd and 3rd job skills are, but will provide useful benefits and become stronger if a fellow performer is in your party! \\ 
If you're alone, Chorus and Ensemble songs such as song of mana and invulnerable siegfred usually require a second performer to sing, but Sonata of Kvasir lets us cast them solo.


===== Gameplay (Arrows) =====

As stated in the previous section, there aren't too many tricks to be aware of, just be sure to keep your buffs up and you'll be fine.

The only thing to be weary of is what arrow you currently have equipped as it will determine what element Metallic Fury uses. \\ 
Some enemies are immune to certain elements, while others may take 200% damage when using the right element against them. \\ 
Every enemy has a unique element you'll need to be conscious of which you can check using @mi <monstername> ingame (for example @mi Moonlight Flower), or by searching them on Divine Pride.

For the most part, holy damage is generally effective against almost all creatures except holy element enemies. \\ 
I recommend keeping different arrows on your hotbar to quickly swap between them when needed, as you can easily double your damage by using the right arrow or loose 75% of it by using the wrong one.

Use whatever feels most comfortable for you.


===== Gameplay (Maximizing Damage from Skills) =====

Metallic fury is our bread and butter for doing damage, however by itself it can only do so much. \\ 
Let's say we have a Metallic fury which can hit for 100k damage, ignoring gear completely this is good, but we can do much better.

First we'll cast Sound Brand on our target, this will increase the damage of our Metallic Fury on them from 100k to 120k, this is a fantastic boost against bosses but not so useful against regular mobs as it'll take more time than it's worth to cast sound brand on all of them.

If we need more damage we can use Unlimited Humming Voice to increase our total damage by 35%, turning our 100k damage Metallic Fury into a 135k damage Metallic fury which is effective against all mobs.

Of course, we can combine these for a multiplicative bonus of 162% damage for a 162k damage Metallic Fury, without even taking elemental vulnerabilities into account which will provide us with even more damage.

As always also remember to add on Serenade of Jawaii for extra damage on top!


===== Stat Goals =====

Most classes will need to hit certain amounts of fixed cast time or after cast delay before maximizing their damage, but performers only need 20% After Cast Delay (ACD) to get the most out of their main dps skill Metallic Fury. \\ 
Poem of Bragi can provide 30% for free, but is only accessible to male performers. \\ 
If you are pursuing the path of being a Trouvere rather than a Troubadour, you will need to find a way to achieve 20% ACD through equipment alone.

[[equipment:muhro:equipment_crafting|New Wave Sunglasses]] are very useful for giving 10% ACD and an [[equipment:muhro:illusion_of_twins_equipment|illusion Silver Guard]] can provide an additional 5% if refined to +10 using Illusion Refinement Boxes.
The remaining after cast delay reduction can be achieve through dim glacier weapons, but can prove to be very expensive to obtain early on. \\ 
A cheaper option to consider might be the [[guides:muhro:sinful_accessories|Sinful]] accessories as their set bonus provides 5% ACD reduction and do not need to be enchanted to provide this effect.

Combining New Wave Sun Glasses, Sinful Accessories and a +10 Illusion Silver Guard, you can achieve 20% ACD as a trouvere without Poem of Bragi.

Here are some other potential combinations to reach 20% ACD:


  * Convertible Magical Wing + Victory Wing Ears

    * 15%: Convertible Magical Wing + Victory Wing Ears Combo
    * 4% Victory Wing Ears
    * Note: This will only grant 19% ACD, but you'll only be short by 0.05 seconds so it will only have a small impact on dps.
  * New Wave Sunglasses + Isaac Wigner + Thanatos Accessories

    * 10% : New Wave Sunglasses
    * 5% : Isaac Wigner
    * 5% : Thanatos accessories combo
  * Death Rune Manteau + Shield + Isaac Wigner

    * 10% : Dim Glacier Manteau +11
    * 5% : +10 Illusion Silver Guard or Mad Bunny-LT[A] or Mad Bunny-LT Enchantment
    * 5% : Isaac Wigner
  * Isaac Wigner + Illusion Silver Guard + New Wave Sunglasses

    * 5% : Isaac Wigner
    * 5% : +10 Illusion Silver Guard or Mad Bunny-LT[A] or Mad Bunny-LT Enchantment

    * 1% - 10% : Gambler's Seal can be enchanted for variable amounts of ACD reduction.
    * 5% : Reload Stone (Dual)

After achieving 20% After Cast Delay reduction you're free to pump damage as high as you can, which is exactly what we'll be doing.


===== Gear Progression =====

For female performers, remember you only need to reach 20% ACD with your equipment, pick whichever combination is most convenient for you to hit 20%!

Note: A +11 A grade Dimensions Instrument will be your first major increase in damage, followed by an A-Grade +10 fully enchanted Nebula Robe, and then an A-Grade well-refined Moan of Corruption. \\ 
Additionally, the moment you can get a Time Dimensions Rune Crown, it will easily double your dps output even with endgame gears, I strongly recommend making one the moment you have enough reputation for it. \\ 
Remember not to neglect cheaper equipment while you work towards these major pieces.

<p>Evil Druid will grant immunity to shadow damage like bathory but will also grant immunity to being frozen, however, it will also come at the cost of being damaged when a Priest attempts to heal you.<br/>
The Clown Alphoccio MVP card will only be useful on female performers, as male performers already have the skill Poem of Bragi.<br/>
The Clown card can also be used on a piece of equipment you swap to rather than your main robe, as you only need to cast the skill periodically.<br/>

If you're looking for a first expensive MVP card to get, Lasgand will drastically increase your damage thanks to it's 40% boss mod and other modifiers, I recommend prioritizing this if you have the zeny to spare.

Most of this guide focuses around Metallic Fury since it's very easy to use throughout all stages of progression, however if you have endgame equipment you may prefer to use rhythmic wave instead. \\ 
Rhythmic wave has nearly-identical damage to Metallic Fury with sound blend applied, but won't require sound blend to be applied to the target.

In other words, you'll get Metallic Fury's single-target DPS against an entire crowd of enemies; you should get ~23% more damage against crowds before taking equipment into account.

Unlike Metallic Fury which requires no fixed cast time, no variable cast time and only 20% after cast delay reduction; \\ 
for Rhythmic Wave we'll need 100% variable cast time reduction, 1s of fixed cast time reduction and 60% after cast delay to make it work.

For 1s of FCT, this will already be accomplished by Moan of Corruption. \\

VCT is the first challenge to overcome, you'll likely have 80% with standard endgame performer equipment. \\ 
The easiest way to obtain the remaining vct needed would be with a Beelzebub Card, however this may be difficult to obtain since they're very scarce. \\ 
An alternative option would be enchanting a Gambler's Seal with 10% vct, and getting the remaining vct with shadow gear enchantments this will likely be expensive and lose more damage compared to beelzebub but be more reliable to obtain. \\ 
Another option would be replacing your top costume stone with a Wanderer & Minstrel Stone I (not II), this will give you 10% vct, this will likely have the biggest damage drop but be the cheapest method to get 10% vct. \\ 
There's a lot of options available for getting vct, so look around the wiki to see what works best for you; if you can get your hands on a Beelzebub card then that will likely be the easiest and best option possible to get 100% without even trying.

Lastly 60% ACD, this will be the easiest challenge for male performers to overcome but the hardest for female performers. \\ 
The easiest way to hit this goal would be using Poem of Bragi for 30% after cast delay, this is innately playable by male performers but female performers will need a {{:wiki:4560.webp}} [MVP] Clown Alphoccio Card ([[https://ratemyragnarok.com/database/items/4560|4560]])  to cast this skill. \\ 
You should have 20% acd by default with end-game performer equipment which will add up to 50% with poem of bragi active. \\ 
If you're using the Time Gap weapon combo with the Crown, you'll get the last 10% acd you need to reach 60% innately; however if you are using a different headgear, such as a Yorscalp Crown, you'll need to get the last 10% ACD elsewhere. \\ 
The easiest place to get 10% acd would be with an [A]-grade Mad Bunny given the After Cast Delay enchant to provide 10% ACD in total, however do note that the Mad Bunny has 5% less vct than a Glacier Guard, so you'll need to find that vct elsewhere if you aren't using a beelzebub card. \\ 
Another option would be using a Gambler's seal with 10% after cast delay, however this can be very, very expensive. A much cheaper but similar option would be a Victory Wing Ears enchanted with 10% acd. \\ 
You could also use two Isaac Wigner Cards which provide 5% acd each to reach 10%. \\ 
There are a lot of options for acd available, so check what works best for you.

This is all assuming you have access to Poem of Bragi however, so what if you don't? \\ 
In this case you'll have a hard time getting the after cast delay you need. \\ 
If you're rich enough to have a Kiel Card you could easily throw that on, but more realistically you'll be looking at shadow gear to get the after cast delay reduction you need to reach 60%. \\ 
Seperate Reload Shadow Shield can give you 10% ACD at +10, and a Mega Blitz Shadow Weapon can give you 7% acd at +10 as well, you can also use reload costume enchant in the dual slot to get an extra 5% without sacrificing too much damage. \\ 
You'll need to use multiple of the options listed above to make up for not having access to poem of bragi, however **I genuinely wouldn't recommend trying this build without Poem of Bragi** or a kiel card. \\ 
Any damage you gain by using Rhythmical Wave against crowds will likely be lost by you needing to sacrifice a lot of damage-boosting equipment just to make Rhythmic spammable.

Remember that Rhythmical Wave does near-identical damage to metallic fury against a sound-blended target, however if you're sacrificing a lot of damage gear just to cast rhythmic wave, you're likely going back to your regular metallic fury aoe damage that you had in the first place; what would be the point? \\ 
If you want to try this build, I recommend getting a clown card if you're a female performer, if you're a male performer then this won't be a problem for you since you'll already have Poem of Bragi innately.

The important part is just that you hit the stat goals listed at the start of the guide **without sacrificing on too much damage gear**.
Remember that Rhythmical Wave isn't a massive damage upgrade over Metallic Fury, it's just a ~28% damage increase against crowds. (no change vs single-target enemies, if not a small drop)
Rhythmical Wave is a great skill to build into if you can afford it, but you shouldn't feel the need to rush towards it if you aren't already geared up yet.
Take your time and you'll get the gear you need to pull it off eventually.

DPS references are done using the Main Office dummies, dps may be different in dungeon due to various factors but main office dummies will serve as a safe and consistent reference.

As you gain more powerful equipment you'll be able to take on more powerful dungeons and instances. \\ 
It can be confusing to know where to start however, but here's my general recommendation for when it's a good idea to start farming a certain dungeon.

The following list does not take elemental bonuses into account, so you'll need to think about that yourself before tackling a certain dungeon if you feel you're ready for it. \\

It should be easily feasible to earn 66 essences, 150 runes and 500 fragments per 25 minutes once you can 1-hit kill biosphere monsters, note that this is with turning in the quest each time it is completed for maximum essences/hr.<br/>
The above results were posted per 25 minutes specifically as that's typically how long I take to clear all 15 subjugation quests for a particular biosphere.<br/>
Taking raw zeny from killing monsters and npc vending varmundt armor into account, it should be easy to earn 100m/hr this way if the items are sold at the right price. (Ideally at least 400k per essence)

</p><p>Your job will be to kill the vine monsters called Spades as they will only be vulnerable to magical damage, while your physical damage dealer handles the Absolem.<br/>
Additionally the final boss of the instance, the Jabbawocky, will only be vulnerable to magical damage in phase 1, but switch to being vulnerable to physical damage in phase 2.
</p><p>For this instance, you'll want to use fire damage to kill the Spades and holy damage for the bosses as it's their respective weaknesses.
</p><p>Additionally, when you find the portal at the end of the red maze, be careful not to enter as it will closely shortly after a party member steps inside of it.<br/>
Tell them the location of the portal and until your party is together, then step in the portal all at once to make sure no-one's left behind.<br/>

<p>Lake of Fire is split into two segments, a chase area and a combat area.<br/>
Starting off you'll be in the chase area, for this I recommend having something that boosts your MHP to make surviving the boss's attacks easier as well as a <img alt="28354.webp" src="/_media/wiki/28354.webp"/> <span class="plainlinks">City Map [1] (<a href="https://ratemyragnarok.com/database/items/28354" target="_blank">28354</a>)</span> , you can purchase one in prontera castle using @wn 28354 and you can obtain the tokens needed by converting instance coins to them in the main office.<br/>
The city map will be used to cast agility up on the MVP to let him walk faster and complete the chase segment quicker.<br/>
The @lgp can also help, as the blue square it displays is how close the boss needs to be for it to notice you.&lt;br.
You'll need to lure the mvp through every trap on the ground which takes the form of a glowing circle, you'll know you lured the boss onto one correctly if they briefly become stunned and stop moving.<br/>
<br/>
Repeat this until you get to the last trap, which will teleport you to a different area where you actually fight the boss.<br/>
You won't need much DPS to kill them as there's no hard time limit or health regeneration to beat, but you will need to avoid the yellow squares on the ground and bring healing items to keep you topped off until the boss dies.<br/>
Keep attacking them while not getting hit by the yellow squares and you'll eventually win, the boss will drop items on the ground you'll definitely want to take before leaving as they're the main reward from this instance.

<p>Hall of Life is currently the most difficult content in the game and you should have the strongest gear you can get before attempting to run it.<br/>
If you do decide to run, as a performer you'll have two jobs: DPS and support.<br/>
If you're a male performer then you should get Apple of Idun and use it in combination with friggs song to boost the party's health; if you're a female performer then you can use a Soul Linker to access the Apple of Idun song. Just be weary that you'll need the Bard and Dancer soul link before Golem soul, as golem soul will override it.<br/>
Make sure everyone has friggs song and even more importantly than that dodge everything.<br/>
Even if you think you can tank an attack don't, everytime someone gets hit Rigel will get stronger, so make sure you dodge everything.<br/>
Additionally try to have at least 200k hp, you can achieve this with the aforementioned songs as well as using <img alt="11592.webp" src="/_media/wiki/11592.webp"/> <span class="plainlinks">Trans Candy Red (<a href="https://ratemyragnarok.com/database/items/11592" target="_blank">11592</a>)</span>  to boost your health further.<br/>
You may also prefer to use a card that boosts your health in either your garment or headgear slot such as <img alt="4573.webp" src="/_media/wiki/4573.webp"/> <span class="plainlinks">Trentini Card (<a href="https://ratemyragnarok.com/database/items/4573" target="_blank">4573</a>)</span>  or <img alt="3000174.webp" src="/_media/wiki/3000174.webp"/> <span class="plainlinks">[1] (3000174)</span> , items from Alice Twisted Madness can also be enchanted for further HP boosts but may not ideal due to the price.<br/>
Try to stay connected to your devotion target at all times and avoid dying at all costs.<br/>
This instance is a group effort so you'll need a strong team to reach the higher levels.<br/>

One thing I want to emphasize is that 10b dps is a recommendation rather than a requirement, HoL is still very new content and this is the minimum dps threshold that worked for our party.

This section is dedicated to other pieces of useful information which doesn't quite fit anywhere else. \\ 
Let's get started


  * Free Bubble Gum & Buff Potions

    * You can earn free bubble gum, battle manuals and buff potions by completing eden board quests and trading your eden coins in at the Eden Vending Machine (moc_para01 51, 31).
    * My preferred way to farm eden coins is in Abyss 4, by taking the Abyss 4 eden board quest (moc_para01 52, 37) and the main office Abyss Lakes 4 quests (main_office 123, 36) as you can farm {{:wiki:25223.webp}} Eden Coin ([[https://ratemyragnarok.com/database/items/25223|25223]])  and {{:wiki:50001.webp}} Forgotten Heirloom (50001)  simultaneously.
    * However, the fastest place to farm solely eden coins is Varmundt Power Plant 2 due to the significantly higher monster density.
  * Casual MVP farming

    * Field MVPs can be fun to hunt, but remember use a bubblegum when you go to hunt them, BBG is nearly free thanks to Eden Board farming and a 0.08% MVP card drop rate is a lot better than 0.04%.
    * Further on this note, if used with guyak pudding, a single bubble gum is enough to clear all of Endless Tower or Endless Cellar.
    * MVPs also frequently drop {{:wiki:50034.webp}} Shadow Crate (50034) , {{:wiki:25729.webp}} Shadowdecon ([[https://ratemyragnarok.com/database/items/25729|25729]])  and {{:wiki:25731.webp}} Zelunium ([[https://ratemyragnarok.com/database/items/25731|25731]])  which are useful materials.
    * Random MVP drops such as {{:wiki:968.webp}} Heroic Emblem (968)  and {{:wiki:25629.webp}} Knot Letter ([[https://ratemyragnarok.com/database/items/25629|25629]])  are also useful for shadow gears, so shouldn't be abandoned.
  * Bloody Branch Popping

    * Are you rich and want to gamble for an MVP card?
    * If you have a large amount of bloody branches, you can pop a HE Bubble Gum and spam bloody branches for a chance at an MVP card.
    * On average, you'll usually want about 1,000 branches for 1 MVP card using this method, since while you'll have a 0.12% chance to drop a card on each MVP, not all MVPs spawned from the branch drop an MVP card.
    * You'll want to equip {{:wiki:19095.webp}} Happy Balloon ([[https://ratemyragnarok.com/database/items/19095|19095]]) , {{:wiki:19117.webp}} Poring Sunglasses ([[https://ratemyragnarok.com/database/items/19117|19117]])  and {{:wiki:22049.webp}} Sol Shoes [1] ([[https://ratemyragnarok.com/database/items/22049|22049]])  to gain 25% extra drop chance as well, this will turn your 0.12% MVP card drop rate into a 0.13% rate, not a major increase but it might be the difference between getting a GTB or just getting hot air.

      * You can use any of the 10% drop rate shoes from royal hunting, I just use sol here as an example.
  * Want to over-refine your gear to +15?

    * My advice is don't, at least at first.
    * I recommend only pushing your gear to +15 after you have all the MVP cards you want, over-refining provides very little damage for most items compared to the cost of refining them above +12.
    * If you have all the MVP cards you want and you're ready to push your gear to +15, you'll want around 3b zeny worth of BSB to push through to it.
  * Fly Wings or Teleport Skill?

    * While fly wings don't require a dedicated gear slot, they come with a short delay before casting teleport.
    * This delay isn't noticeable on lower pings but may be more severe if you have a higher ping to the server.
    * However the teleport skill itself can't be used if you're in the middle of an animation, such as attacking, or suffering from after cast delay.

      * Ultimately the choice between teleport the skill or fly wings are on an individual level and depends on what works best for you.
