The Memories of Thanatos instance is a revamped version of the Thanatos Tower, introduced on December 18, 2019. To access the instance, you need to initiate it at the steps between floors 6 and 7 in Thanatos Tower. The instance consists of seven floors filled with monsters over level 200, and you must traverse through the memories of Thanatos.

• Floors 1, 6, and 7 always remain the same.
• Floors 2, 3, 4, and 5 are randomized per instance.

You will be greeted by an angel NPC (Observation) who warns you not to proceed further. Despite the warnings, you press on to relive Thanatos's memories. Beware of multiple Observations spawning on top of you.

Tasks:

• Kill all Observations in the room.
• Proceed to the next floor.

Tasks:

• Kill all Happy Givers and Empathizers.
• Kill Odium of Thanatos that spawns in the center.
• Obtain a Fragment of Hatred from the glowing NPC in the center.
• Collect the four Colored Charm Stones from the candles marked on the map.
• Proceed to the next floor.

This floor features Firewall traps that spawn diagonally across the map. They block your path but do not cause significant damage.

Tasks:

• Kill all Shelters.
• Kill Dolor of Thanatos that spawns in the center.
• Obtain a Fragment of Agony from the glowing NPC in the center.
• Proceed to the next floor.

Tasks:

• Kill all Solaces.
• Kill Maero of Thanatos that spawns in the center.
• Obtain a Fragment of Misery from the glowing NPC in the center.
• Proceed to the next floor.

On this floor, Earthquake effects occur randomly, dealing approximately 3,000 damage per hit.

Tasks:

• Kill all Retributions.
• Kill Despero of Thanatos that spawns in the center.
• Obtain a Fragment of Despair from the glowing NPC in the center.
• Proceed to the next floor.

Tasks:

• Use your fragments on the four statues marked in red.
• Kill all Regret, Resentment, Horror, and Anger of Thanatos that spawn in the center.
• Obtain the Black Charm Stone from the north statue marked in yellow.
• Use all five Charm Stones in the center green area to open the portal to Thanatos.
• Proceed to the next floor.

Thanatos is locked at the center of the floor. The party leader must speak with him to release him.

Battle Mechanics:

• Once released, Thanatos will announce which memories fuel his anger. Look for a green broadcast message.

Tasks:

• Destroy the corresponding memory statue at one of the five marked locations.
• Destroying the wrong statue will strengthen Thanatos.
• Thanatos will cast Ground Drive and Thunder Storm every 5-10 seconds if strengthened.
• It is recommended to bring Land Protector or attack from a distance due to his infinite slave spawns.
• Thanatos may use Damage Heal, which can be dispelled or cleared.
• Thanatos randomly changes his element to Ghost, Dark, or Holy.
• At 30% HP, Thanatos uses Two-Hand Quicken and may transform into Broken Memory of Thanatos. If transformation occurs, a red broadcast message will appear.
• Leave the screen for about one minute to complete the transformation process.

As of April 1, 2020, the rewards for the instance were updated. Thanatos MVP or Broken Memory of Thanatos MVP may drop the following items:
