Item Upgrading Guide

Welcome to the Item Crafting & Upgrading Guide for GemstoneRO. This guide will help you understand the process of crafting and upgrading your items, making them more powerful and useful in your adventures.

Gear Level, Refining & Grading

Before jumping into how to refine your gear, let’s go over the types of gear, the materials for refining, and how to identify what you’re working with.

Gear Levels

Weapons

  • Can go from Lvl 1 → Lvl 5.
  • Determines refine method and required materials.
  • Lvl 1–4 Weapons → Refined with Oridecon & Bradium.
  • Lvl 5 Weapons → Refined with Etherdeocon & Ether Bradium (Etel Dust + Oridecon/Bradium).

Armors

  • Can go from Lvl 1 → Lvl 2.
  • Determines refine method and required materials.
  • Lvl 1 Armors → Refined with Elunium & Carnium.
  • Lvl 2 Armors → Refined with Etherium & Ether Carnium (Etel Dust + Elunium/Carnium).

Refine Materials

Oridecon & Elunium

  • Standard ores.
  • Safe refine until +3.
  • After +3 → Fail = Gear breaks.

HD Oridecon & HD Elunium

  • Safer version.
  • Safe refine until +10.
  • Fail = Rollback to previous refine (e.g., +8 → fail → goes back to +7).

Enriched Oridecon & Enriched Elunium

  • Better success rate than HD.
  • Not safe — failure = gear breaks.

Bradium & Carnium

  • Used for refining after +10 (Lvl 1–4 weapons / Lvl 1 armors).
  • Always unsafe → fail = gear breaks.
  • HD versions = better success but still unsafe.

Etel Dust

  • Used to craft Ether ores (Etherdeocon / Etherium).
  • Also used to create Etel Stones (for grading).

Etherium & Etherdeocon

  • Used for Lvl 5 weapons & Lvl 2 armors.
  • Safe refining:
  • Normal → Fail = -3 refine levels.
  • Enriched → Fail = -1 refine level.
  • HD versions used after +10, unsafe (fail = gear breaks).

Ether Bradium & Ether Carnium

  • Used for Lvl 5 weapons & Lvl 2 armors after +10.
  • Lower success than HD Ether ores.
  • Unsafe → fail = gear breaks.
  • HD versions = used after +15, still unsafe.

Blacksmith Blessing (BSB)

  • Removes most risks.
  • Can be used starting at +7 refine.
  • Prevents downgrades & breaking until +18.
  • After +18 → failure may break gear.

You can get craft the different refine materials at Thores, who you can findt at @hub or @graderoom

How to Refine

  1. Type @refineui to open the refine menu anywhere.
  2. Unequip the gear you want to refine.
  3. Double-click it to load it into the refine UI.
  4. Choose refine materials → start refining.

Strategy:

  • Stop at +7 → use BSB to avoid rollback.
  • At +10 → reload BSB & use appropriate ores.

Refining with Tickets

There is also an alternative way to refine your gear: Refine Tickets. These tickets instantly set your gear to the refine level shown on the ticket, regardless of its current refine level.

Types of Refine Tickets

Pink Refine Tickets

  • Usable on:
    • Armor Lvl 1
    • Weapons Lvl 1–4
  • Obtained from:
    • Exchanging MVP Gear at Eden.
    • Turning in gear at the Equipment Eater.
  • Usually obtained at +7.
  • Can be combined at Para Market NPC to create higher refine levels.

Brown Refine Tickets

  • Usable on:
    • Weapons Lvl 5
    • Armors Lvl 2
  • Obtained from:
    • Event NPCs (e.g., Valentine’s, Easter, Summer seasonal events).

How to Use Refine Tickets

  • Pink Tickets NPC → Located in Prontera, next to the Stylist.

  • Brown Tickets NPC → Found at @graderoom and @hub.

Steps:

  1. Equip the gear you want to refine.
  2. Talk to the appropriate NPC (depending on ticket type).
  3. Follow the dialogue prompts.
  4. Done — your gear is instantly refined!

Grading

Similar to refining, but instead of only refine bonuses, grading unlocks additional stats/skills.

  • Applies to Lvl 5 weapons & Lvl 2 armors.
  • Grades:
    • No Grade → D
    • D → C
    • C → B
    • B → A (highest)
  • Each grade requires gear refine level (usually +11).
  • Success rate lowers each step (e.g., D→C = 70%, C→B = 60%).
  • Refinement resets to +0 after each grade-up.

Grading Materials

Etel Stone

  • Condensed Etel Dust.
  • Combined with gemstones for grading.

Etel Gemstones

  • Etel Aquamarine → No Grade → D
  • Etel Topaz → D → C
  • Etel Amethyst → C → B
  • Etel Amber → B → A

Blessed Etel Dust

  • Combination of Etel Dust + BSB.
  • Improves grading success rates.

How to Grade

  • Visit @graderoom.

  • NPC: Grade Enhancer Suribell.
    • Option 1 → Craft Etel Stones, Blessed Etel Dust, Gemstones.
    • Option 2 → Perform grading.

⚠️ Important:

  • Option 1 in grading menu = lower gem cost, but gear may break.
  • Option 2 = safer, never breaks, no rollback on failure.
